About the Transplant
My name’s Doug. When I was 4 years old, my parents moved to Arizona. I am now 21, and I live and breathe sports that are 1,897 miles away (if I take the route that avoids Chicago). It was destined to be a rough ride– my dad packed the plane tickets in the end table (first thing we put in the truck) and didn’t realize until they finished packing the house. Anyway, ever since I move to Arizona, I have resisted the temptation to turn to an Arizona fan, and stayed true to my roots– in Detroit.
To me, Detroit sports are more than a fascination or a hobby. They are a culture, a way of life. They are passed on from generation to generation, and they stick with you no matter where you go– such is my case.
My hopes are that you enjoy my writing style, actively participate in commenting, and learn a thing or two from my ridiculously expansive bank of useless information (also known as my brain).
The header on my blog features the Spirit of Detroit, with the star and sun rays in his left hand. These are the same rays and star featured on the Arizona flag. Behind everything is my favorite Detroit logo, which was featured on the Red Wings’ Winter Classic jerseys. I feel that this image I created fully represents the ties I have to both states, and looks pretty awesome all at once.
The blog centers mostly around Detroit sports, with Arizona teams and a pinch of randomness mixed in. Sit back, enjoy the show.

Dude… I love what you did with all of the NFL Nike Pro Combat Uniform concepts…
I’m from Houston, Texas… I would love to see what you could come up with for the University of Houston. I know that the Cougars aren’t a “power conference” team, but I’d still like to see what a Nike Pro Combat uniform might look like for them!
Keep up the good work

Thanks! I’ll be doing some more in the future, just don’t have any plans officially. I may actually do C-USA because there are so many cool teams and color schemes to pick from. Keep coming back, you won’t be disappointed!

Well, if you don’t do CUSA… I hope you will at least take at shot at the Coogs.
UH is a Nike team, and they have been talking about making some “tweaks” to the uniform in the next 1-2 years.
I loved the Nike Pro Combat uniforms that Boise State & VT wore this year… so I would love to see what it might look like for UH.
Who knows… maybe they will see your concept and incorporate some of your design

The Coogs have a really cool secondary logo:

It’s similar to the Carolina Panthers logo… and I REALLY liked what you did with the Panthers’ uniform!
If you ever decide draw designs for the Coogs, I hope you will post them… I’m sure they will look awesome!

The University of Houston did throwback uniforms for Homecoming this past week…

A lot of the fans were so pumped about the throwback uniforms, that they are calling for a Nike “ProCombat” Uniform…
A bunch of alumni want to see UH do a “white out” game, with completely white uniforms, including the helmets!
I remembered your blog, because you had created some really cool concepts… hopefully one day you’ll take a shot at the Coogs!
By the way, I bet you guys are pumped about the year the Lions are having… I’d love to see the Lions in the SuperBowl
